EMBODIED LIFE™
Embodied Life™ includes movement lessons based on Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement, meditation and Focusing or embodied listening, and is based on the life work of Feldenkrais trainer and meditation teacher Russell Delman.
Embodied Life™ practices slow us down to feel and discover our ability to sense presence in our body, environment, and the larger space that holds our living. We learn tools to engage with our moment-to-moment experiences through gentle and caring ways in a group setting. The movement work is simple, deep and carries direct benefits in every day life. Focusing brings us to a "felt sense" and includes listening and speaking from that place.
Karen Nelson graduated from Russell Delman’s Embodied Life Mentorship Program in June 2014. A life-long movement artist and long time meditation practitioner, Karen has incorporated Embodied Life™ teachings into her dance work with adults, children, groups and individuals since 2011. In 2013 Karen began teaching Embodied Life™ on Vashon Island and has offered class sessions several times per year ever since. She continues learning about the work through Graduate Retreats with Russell and on-going peer learning groups with other graduates who are teaching the work, and in every class she teaches.
