Using the anatomy of the ear as a guide this workshop will focus on dancing while attuning the body and voice to the inner, middle and outer ear. These investigations into attunement will be the basis of moving in and out of different frequencies of sound, vibration, momentum, disorientation, decomposition, stillness and quietude. Listening is the basis of this work--work inspired by the lives of cetaceans who practice echolocation for survival often in total darkness of the abyssal ocean. This workshop is an invitation to play with composing and decomposing scores that dance, vocalize and find quiet space. How does one attune to the grief and wonder of this current moment while allowing gentleness to permeate ones' practice?
